Easy Gluten Free Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings
We got an air fryer last Christmas and we’re still every bit obsessed with it. We had a basic air fryer before that we got 5ish years ago but stopped using the original after I found out I had celiac disease. Some recommendations I had read suggested that the air fryer can be cleaned with soap and water and then it’s safe for gluten free foods— others suggested that it’s better off not to risk it. I decided this was a great opportunity to just upgrade and I am so glad we did! We love our Ninja Foodi Deluxe. It’s an air fryer, pressure cooker, dehydrator, and several other functions. One of the first things we made were chicken wings. They are SO much crispier in the air fryer than in the oven. Of course, the oven works great too if that’s what you have.
You know those wing nights where everyone is diving into a steaming hot plate of wings? Well, that’s a party that us celiac foodies don’t often get to join since many restaurants don’t have a dedicated gluten free fryer. But guess what? These air fried garlic Parmesan wings are here to rescue your wing cravings!
Ingredients
For the chicken wings, you’ll need:
chicken wings
olive oil
lemon
salt and pepper (I used garlic salt which was great)
red pepper seasoning (optional)
For the garlic Parmesan sauce, you’ll need:
garlic
fresh Parmesan
butter
parsley
How to Make Gluten Free Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Wings
Prepare your wings. Pat dry with a paper towel. Mix together the wings, olive oil, lemon, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. I added some red pepper seasoning as well which was a great addition if you have it! Cover with wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes but a few hours adds the best flavor.
Preheat the air fryer at 390° for 5 minutes and spray the basket with olive oil. Place the wings in the basket and set the timer for 25-30 minutes (depends on how crispy you like them, we normally do the full 30 minutes). Shake them every 5-6 minutes or so.
Prepare the garlic Parmesan sauce. This comes together so fast! Melt the butter in the microwave until it’s mostly melted— you don’t want it entirely melted as I find if it’s still a little bit thick, it stays on the wings better when you coat them. Mix the rest of the ingredients in with the butter. If you have fresh garlic, that’s best since that’s where most of the flavor comes from but I’m sure garlic powder would work in a pinch.
Toss the wings in your garlic Parmesan sauce. Easy peasy! Enjoy :)

I often will make a double match of the wings and use the recipe as is for 1/2 garlic Parmesan and 1/2 with BBQ/ wing sauce.
